My interest in photography began in 1975 when I was loaned an SLR by a friend for a holiday in the south of England. A few years later I bought my first SLR, a Canon AE1 film camera with one lens, a 50mm prime. In 1981 I travelled extensively in North America and Australia with this camera and the single lens. A few of the images from that "trip" (created from colour positive film) are visible on this site in the 1981 gallery.
On my 60th birthday I was presented with a Nikon 5100 DSLR. Time to go digital!

Landscape photography is my main interest. I am fortunate to live in Lancashire, close to Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. As you might expect, many of my photographs are from this region.
I have recently retired and along with my wife, we travel as much as possible. My portfolio therefore contains images from many other areas of the UK and the wider world.
I am and will remain an enthusiastic amateur photographer. My greatest pleasure is to be outdoors faced with the technical challenges of digital photography, presented every day by light and the natural world. I hope you enjoy them.
